 Using a cholesterol home test is a great way to find out if are living a healthy lifestyle. The only way to know if following a cholesterol lowering diet and exercise program are working is to get tested. Having a doctor to test your cholesterol on a regular basis can be expensive, but now you can test your cholesterol in the comfort of your own home.
Cholesterol home tests are available over the counter at your local pharmacy. When following a cholesterol lowering diet and exercise program, its a good idea to use the cholesterol home test every few weeks. This will give you an idea just how quickly your cholesterol levels are decreasing. Once you have the levels down to a manageable level, testing once a month should be adequate.
Rules to Follow
There are some rules that must be followed in order to get accurate results with your cholesterol home test. It is important to adequately fast before taking the test. Not fasting can produce inaccurate results.
